TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE AND DELIVERY

The products in the online store are sold by the City of Lahti (Business ID 01496693).

1. Registering and personal information

Placing an order at the online store does not require registration. By registering, however, you can make your shopping faster in the future and view your order history. The email address you provide when registering will function as your username. Similarly, you will choose your password when registering. The username and password are personal. The Customer is responsible for keeping their username and password safe so that third parties cannot discover or use them. The Customer is responsible for all use of the site done under their username and password and for any related costs or expenses incurred.

The Customer must provide the necessary information required to use the online store. The City of Lahti has the right to use the Customer’s personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act and other legislation. The Customer’s information will be recorded in the online store’s customer register. The City of Lahti will not disclose the Customer’s information to third parties without express permission from the Customer. The Customer has the legal right to prohibit the use of their personal data for the purposes of direct marketing, distance selling or other direct marketing, market research and polling, vital records and genealogy.

 

2. Ordering

Products are mainly ordered via the Internet at verkkokauppa.lahti.fi by placing them into your Bag.
All orders are confirmed via email, stating the total price and items purchased. In order to receive this confirmation, you must provide an email address when placing your order.
With each purchase, the Customer agrees with the online store’s effective terms and conditions of use and delivery and any special terms concerning the items being purchased.

 

3. Payment methods

Payment for products is done when placing the order. Online payment uses a secure connection through the Suomi.fi/Paytrail service. This service allows the online payment service for Finnish banks and Nets’ 
card payment service (Visa and MasterCard). Banks included in the service are Osuuspankki, Nordea, Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, S-Pankki, POP-pankki, Ålandsbanken, Aktia, Säästöpankki and Oma Säästöpankki.

 

4. Prices and VAT

The price for a purchase made at the online store is based on the effective price shown on the site during purchase. The prices at the online store may differ from those at other outlets. The prices shown at the online store do not include possible delivery and handling fees. We reserve the right to alter the prices. All prices are in euros (EUR). 
The prices shown at the online store include the VAT currently in effect.

 

5. The basic terms and conditions apply to registration.

Registration is binding. A cancellation must be done in writing. Generally, cancellations must be done in writing (e.g. an email message) and the cancellation notification must reach the recipient no later than one week from when the activity would commence. Please check any product-specific instructions as they may differ from the general cancellation terms. The cancellation is accepted once we have sent our confirmation.

If the number of registered participants in a camp, on a course or other similar products does not meet the predetermined minimum, due to which the activity is cancelled, we will send a notification on this using the contact information provided by the Customer when registering. The minimum number of participants is product-specific.

 

6. Deliveries and returns

We dispatch orders on every weekday. Depending on the bank connection, this will take 1–3 weekdays from payment. Separate notification will be provided for any delays. The Customer will receive an email notification when the item has been dispatched. The items will be delivered by mail to the delivery address provided by the Customer during purchase. If the delivery does not match your order or you discover that an item is damaged, you must notify the seller immediately. The notification must be submitted within seven days of the arrival or reception of the order. The delivery fee is based on the contents, weight and delivery method of the order. Alternatively, the delivery fee can also be included in the price of the product.

According to the Finnish Consumer Protection Act, the Customer will have a 14-day right of exchange and refund. We do not accept returns after 14 days of the delivery. The product to be returned and its original packaging must be in the same condition as when they were received. The person returning the products will be responsible for the return costs, unless the delivery contains an error clearly made by the supplier.

Please include the following information to your return: your customer number, name, address, phone number and bank account number, as well as a copy of the order confirmation. All returns must be negotiated with the supplier. We kindly ask customers to contact the supplier before returning a product.

7. Service administration, accessibility and failures

The City of Lahti is doing its best to keep the online store operating without failures or interruptions. The City of Lahti has the right to discontinue its e-commerce due to any change, renewal or technical reason related to the online store, or due to repair, installation or maintenance work or similar work performed on the network, or if required by legislation or other administrative regulations. Any interruptions will be scheduled in a way that does not cause customers excess inconvenience.

The City of Lahti will not be responsible for any errors caused by interruptions in or other problems with telecommunication connections or other related services provided by third parties. In addition, the City of Lahti will not be responsible for any errors that result from the Customer using the online store against the instructions or regulations or are caused by the Customer in any other way.

 

8. Information security

The online store has been protected by using the SSL protocol. The Customer is responsible for arranging appropriate information security for their own information systems. The City of Lahti will keep all the information concerning the Customer or submitted by the Customer confidential. The City of Lahti has organised its online store’s information security effectively and in a generally accepted way and is using appropriate technical solutions in order to prevent unauthorised access to its information systems.

 

9. Devices, software and connections

 

The Customer is responsible for the acquisition, function and costs of the devices, software and network connections required to use the online store. These must not cause the online store or the network’s other users any disruptions or other harm.

 

10. Liability

 

The City of Lahti will only be liable for the direct damage it has caused through negligence by breaching the agreement. If it can be established that the cause is due to an error made by the City of Lahti, the Customer can be compensated for the costs unduly charged from the Customer at the online store.

The City of Lahti will not be liable for damages or other direct or indirect compensations or refunds that are due to disruptions or errors mentioned in Chapter 6.

 

11. Force majeure

Force majeure will release the City of Lahti from all its obligations concerning its online store if these force majeure conditions prevent payments from being made at the online store or cause excess disruptions to them. The following conditions are considered force majeure: fire, earthquake, flood, explosion, strike or other stoppage, an order from an authority, interruptions to the energy supply, shortage of raw materials or supplies, a cable or other telecommunications problem caused by or due to a third party, or any other reason the City of Lahti has previously been unaware of or has not had a reasonable chance to prepare for. The City of Lahti will post a force majeure notification on its online store site immediately after becoming aware of the situation, if posting this notification is possible.

 

11. Changing the terms and conditions of use and delivery

The City of Lahti has the right to change these terms and conditions of use and delivery concerning its online store after having announced these changes in the online store well before the changes take effect.

 

12. Solving disputes

Disputes related to this agreement will be solved by the Päijät-Häme District Court in accordance with Finnish Law.
