Terms of Delivery

Online store products are sold by the City of Lahti (business ID: 0149669-3).

1. Registration and personal data

You can place an order in the online store without registering. If you choose to register for the online store, future purchases will be faster, and you will be able to view the orders you have placed. Your username will be the email address you enter when registering. You can select a password when you register. Your username and password are personal to you. You are responsible for storing your username and password carefully and ensuring that third parties do not gain knowledge or possession of them. You are responsible for all usage that takes place with your user account and password, as well as for any costs or fees thereby incurred.

You must provide the information necessary to use the online store. The City of Lahti is entitled to process customers’ personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the Finnish Data Protection Act, and other applicable legislation. Customer data is stored in the online store’s customer register.The processing of personal data, including disclosure to third parties, is described in the Statement of Processing Activities (the Privacy Statement).

2. Ordering

Products are generally ordered over the internet at verkkokauppa.lahti.fi or verkkokauppa.lahti.fi/museokauppa/. All orders are confirmed by email, and the email states the price and the products ordered. Order confirmations can only be sent if the customer provides an email address when placing an order. The customer undertakes to comply with the applicable revision of the online store’s terms of use and delivery and the special terms and conditions applying to the ordered products.

3. Payment methods

Products must be paid for when ordering. Online payments use an encrypted connection via the Suomi.fi payments/Paytrail service. The service includes online payment services from Finnish banks and card payment services (Visa and MasterCard). The available banks are OP, Nordea, Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, S-Pankki, POP-pankki, Ålandsbanken, Aktia, Säästöpankki and Oma Säästöpankki.

4. Prices and value added tax

The valid price for orders placed in the online store is the price shown in the online store price list when the order is placed. The online store’s prices may differ from the prices at other points of sale. Processing and delivery charges may be added to the order total. We reserve the right to change the prices. All prices are stated in euros (EUR). The product prices shown in the City of Lahti’s online store include the applicable rate of value added tax.

5. Event registration and ticket products

Registration for camps, excursions, courses and events provided by Youth Services

Reservations for the camps, excursions, courses and events provided by Youth Services can be purchased in advance in the City of Lahti’s online store. The online store is also the place to register for free activities if the maximum number of participants is limited. Reservations for events will be filled in order of registration.

Registrations are binding. Once participation has been purchased, changes or cancellations must be agreed upon separately. The fee will only be refunded in the event of a cancellation due to illness. A certificate from a doctor or nurse must be provided as evidence of the illness. In the event of any changes or cancellations, we ask the customer to contact the contact person or the person responsible for the activity as stated in the details about the activity. The City of Lahti’s website also provides the details of contact persons.

The City of Lahti may cancel an activity if the number of registered participants is less than the specified minimum number. If an activity is cancelled, the City of Lahti will contact the people who have purchased the product. The participation fees will be refunded to the bank accounts specified by the customers. The City of Lahti is not obliged to offer equivalent activities instead of the cancelled activities.

Tickets to performances by the Lahti Youth Theatre and Lahti Summer Theatre

Tickets must be purchased in advance upon reservation. An order confirmation will be sent to the customer’s stated email address. The order confirmation is the ticket, and it should be presented upon arrival at the ticket office, either printed on paper or on the screen of a phone or other mobile device.

There is no right of refund for advance purchases of tickets to the Lahti Youth Theatre and Lahti Summer Theatre. Changes to purchased tickets should always be agreed upon separately. The customer should contact the contact person or the person responsible for the activity as stated in the details about the activity.

If an activity is cancelled, the City of Lahti will contact the ticket holders using their contact details. Payments will be refunded to the bank accounts specified by the customers. The City of Lahti is not obliged to offer equivalent activities instead of the cancelled activities.

Lahti City Museums: ticket products, guided tours and events

Tickets must be purchased in advance upon reservation. An order confirmation will be sent to the customer’s stated email address. The order confirmation is the ticket, and it should be presented upon arrival at the museum, either printed on paper or on the screen of a phone or other mobile device.

There is no right to a refund or exchange of tickets bought in advance to Lahti City Museums or participation fees for workshops. If force majeure prevents Lahti City Museums from providing a service that the customer has purchased, Lahti City Museums are entitled to cancel the prepurchased tickets. If Lahti City Museums cancel an event for a reason beyond the customer’s control, the fee will be refunded in full.

The customer has the option of changing the date stated on the ticket by contacting the museum ticket office at least 24 hours before the reserved visit. The date can only be changed if there are tickets/places available.

Reservation for guided tours at Lahti City Museums can be cancelled at no cost three days before the reserved time. Lahti City Museums will charge 50% of the reservation total for changes made after this time. Lahti City Museums will charge the full cost of guided tours that are not cancelled. Changes and cancellations should be made by email or by calling the museum customer service team. Contact information can be found in the order confirmation and on the Lahti City Museums website.

6. Deliveries and returns of products from the Lahti City Museums online store

Lahti City Museums dispatches products twice a week. Any delivery times in deviation from this will be communicated separately. Customers are notified by email when their products are dispatched.

Products are delivered by post to the Posti collection point that the customer selects when placing the order.Lahti City Museums shall not be liable if Posti delivers a parcel to a different parcel machine or post office.

The delivery charges are determined according to the contents, weight and delivery method of the order, and they are shown in the shopping cart after the delivery method is selected. Products can also be delivered as fragile packages for an additional charge.

Customers can also choose to collect their products. The collection location is stated in the order confirmation.

If a delivery does not correspond to the order or damage occurs during transportation or any other stage, the customer should immediately notify Lahti City Museums. Notice must be submitted within seven days of the arrival or receipt of the delivery.

Note: due to action in response to the coronavirus pandemic, delivery times may be longer than those specified above. Customers are notified by email when their products are dispatched.

Under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act, customers are entitled to return or exchange products within 14 days. Lahti Museums will not accept returns more than 14 days after delivery. The returned product and the original product packaging must be in the same condition as when they were received. The customer must pay all the costs of returning the products unless the supplier made an obvious error in the delivery. If a parcel is not collected, we will charge the costs of resending it.

Include the following information along with the returned products: your customer number, name, address, phone number, bank account number, and a copy of the order confirmation. Product returns should always be agreed upon separately with Lahti City Museums before returning anything.

7. Adding visits to a customer card for swimming halls

You will need the number of your customer card for the swimming hall and a PIN code in order to add visits to your card.

Tickets are transferred to the personal customer card immediately after payment. Transferred tickets cannot be returned. Customer cards work at all the swimming halls in Lahti and at the outdoor swimming pool Maauimala in the summer.

8. Service maintenance, availability and errors

The City of Lahti makes every effort to ensure that the online store operates without disruptions or errors. The City of Lahti is entitled to suspend the online store for alterations, updates, or technical reasons related to the online store or due to refurbishment, installation or maintenance work on the telecommunications network or similar reasons or if so required by legislation or official regulations. The City of Lahti strives to schedule outages so that they do not cause unreasonable inconvenience for customers.

The City of Lahti shall not be liable for errors due to outages in third-party telecommunications connections or other services related to telecommunications or for any errors in such services. The City of Lahti shall not be liable for errors that result from the customer’s use of the online store in contravention of the instructions or regulations or that are otherwise caused by the customer.

9. Information security

The online store is protected by the SSL protocol. Customers are liable for ensuring appropriate information security on their own devices and information systems. The City of Lahti treats all data sent by the customer or concerning the customer as confidential. The City of Lahti arranges the information security of its online store in an effective and generally acceptable manner and strives to take appropriate technical measures to prevent unauthorised access to its information systems.

10. Hardware, software and connections

The customer is liable for the costs incurred in acquiring the hardware, software and network connections required to use the online store, as well as for their functionality. They must not cause disruption or other harm to the online store or other network users.

11. Liability for damages

The City of Lahti shall only be liable towards the customer for direct incidents of loss or damage caused negligently by breach of contract. If it can be established that an incident is due to an error by the City of Lahti, the customer may be compensated for any costs incorrectly charged to the customer in the online store.

The City of Lahti shall not be obliged to pay damages or any other direct or indirect compensation or remuneration due to disruptions of errors as specified in section 8.

12. Force majeure

Force majeure shall release the City of Lahti from its obligations related to the online store if it prevents or unreasonably impedes the performance of a task related to the online store. Force majeure shall include war, pandemic, fire, earthquake, flooding, explosion, strike or other industrial action, orders by the authorities, disruption in the energy supply, shortage of raw materials or supplies, cable or other telecommunications disruptions caused by or due to a third party, or other similar unforeseen factors that could not reasonably have been anticipated. The City of Lahti will announce the onset of force majeure on its website immediately if it is possible to do so.

13. Amendment of the terms of use and delivery

The City of Lahti is entitled to amend these terms of use and delivery for the online store by announcing the amendments in the online store well in advance of them taking effect.

14. Dispute resolution

Any disputes arising out of this agreement shall be settled at the District Court of Päijät-Häme in accordance with Finnish law. Consumers may always bring legal action and defend themselves in the district court of their place of residence.
