History of Nastola

The fourth part of Nastola's history deals with the colourful stages of the municipality of Päijänne Tavastia in 1939-2015, from the Winter War to reunification with Lahti. During the Continuation War, the country's second prisoner-of-war camp was established in the countryside, and in the 1960s and 1970s, the peasant became a municipality in large industrial agglomerations and residential areas.

The book was written by Ville Eerola, doctoral researcher specializing in urban identities at the University of Helsinki.

The book and the related research work have been carried out in the research unit of the Lahti City Museum.
